You’d think that when you’re locked up, you’d try to take in any source of outside entertainment. You’d be starving to hear anything, read anything, and absorb anything you can that’s unrelated to walls. But you’re not Lil’ Wayne, multiplatinum recording artist and certifiable crazy person. Interviewing celebrity musicians seems to have gone the way of interviewing athletes – the majority of the time, they’re just too crazy to say anything deep, so it becomes an ironic swirl of entertainment and amusement at the expense of the person interviewed. Despite them being worth millions of dollars. And an interview with Lil’ Wayne about his time spent in prison has basically merited the same sort of results.

Namely? Lil’ Wayne doesn’t listen to music in prison. Not only does he not listen to music in prison, he doesn’t listen to music by other artists other than himself. So he’s constantly bumping himself in his car, on planes, having sex, any time during the day he’d listen to music, he’s listening to himself. That’s just weird. Imagine every time you were hanging out with Lil’ Wayne and talking to Lil’ Wayne, you were hearing Lil’ Wayne in the background. The universe shouldn’t let that sort of insanity continue.
